Teeth Whitening

Sometimes, our teeth are stained or discoloured due to having certain food and drinks or just not taking good care of them. The teeth whitening procedure can remove these stains to greatly improve the way your teeth look.

Our team at Wycombe Dental provides two types of whitening procedures and a brief summary is provided below. Contact us now if you would like to discuss how we can make your smile brighter and more radiant than ever!

Philips Zoom in chair whitening

This procedure is performed at our clinic and takes 1-2 hours for an immediate result. We use a machine called Zoom which is a state of the art tooth whitening system that is known for it’s gentleness and ease of access.

Zoom uses LED light to activate whitening material and remove the stains from your teeth.

Take home whitening kit

This procedure can be done at the comfort of your own home.

Our dentists will create a reusable ‘whitening tray’ (looks like a mouthguard) based on the mould of your mouth. They will then give you this tray and whitening gel and provide you with proper instructions on how to use it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep my new teeth white?
Brush your teeth twice daily or after each meal. Floss daily. Go to your dentist for regular checkups and cleans (we recommend every 6 months).

Does the teeth whitening procedure hurt?
Short answer is no but some patients may experience slight sensitivity during or after treatment. In these instances, the sensitivity is often temporary and disappears after a few hours.

Is teeth whitening for me?
Teeth whitening is an easy and safe way to bring you a bright, white smile. Your result will depend on the level of staining and whiteness desired. It should be noted that whilst the procedure can remove stains from crowns, bridges and veneers, it cannot actually alter their original colour. We recommend visiting our dentists to discuss your options and if you have any other questions.
